Ingredients :
  • Samai/Little Millet-1 cup
  • Water-3 cups
  • Oil-2 tsp
  • Mustard-1/2 tsp
  • Urad Dal-1/2 tsp
  • Green Chilli-1
  • Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp
  • Peanuts-1 tsp
  • Carrot-1
  • Lemon Juice-1 tsp
  • Curry Leaves-a sprig
  • Salt-to taste
  • Coriander leaves-to garnish

How to Make Samai Lemon Bhath :
  1. Wash the Samai millet well in running water. Strain and keep it aside.
  2. In a pan, add oil followed by mustard, channa dal, urad dal and green chillies. Then, add asafoetida and turmeric powder.
  3. Add chopped carrots, peanuts and curry leaves. Now, add samai or little millet. Finally, add salt and water and cook till done.
  4. Squeeze half a lemon and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with any raita or chips.
