Surely, he is one of the most talented actors of Bollywood in the recent times. His fine acting skill has earned him a lot of appreciation and awards too, but Nawazuddin Siddiqui says awards don't feature in his career plan.

"A film or a character might end up getting you awards, but you never work with any agenda in your mind. When you get an award, you feel good that whatever you did was honest and right; that you performed it minus corruption of any kind," says the actor.

The Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) actor feels, "when you get that assuredness (of people liking a performance), you feel happy about it". The actor adds, "The thrill of getting into a new life and playing a new character is indescribable. To get into the mindset and thought process of a character like Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016) is enjoyable, interesting and fresh. That's why every film gives a new dimension to the artiste inside you."

But is he forced to alter his acting style depending on the genre or whether it's a small budget or big commercial movie?

Nawaz says everything "largely depends" on the director and not the stars (in that film). "Every director has a film, a format, and a style with which he gives the film a particular treatment. For example, in Kick (2014), Sajid (Nadiadwala) bhai told me that he wants my performance to be 'one note higher'. And since I have done all forms of theatre including Parsi, proscenium, musical, Jatra, lavani, etc., it has given me an ease and confidence that I can satisfy the director with whatever style of acting he wants," he says.
