Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly is all set to don the hat of Team India Director and that the upcoming Bangladesh tour will be his first assignment.

If reports are to be believed, Ganguly is all set to replace Ravi Shastri who was the Team Director as the new BCCI set-up lead by Jagmohan Dalmiya is all set to make significant changes in the support staff.

According to a report in the Hindustan Times, it's time for the loyalists of former president N Srinivasan to make their way out and Shastri is considered pro-Srinivasan.

The newspaper, has further reported that since Shastri is close to Srinivasan, new BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya is not keen on him as Team India Director and tha he wants the Prince of Kolkata to fill in Shastri's shoes.

"The [BCCI] president believes Shastri has been pro-Srinivasan. He does not see Shastri as a long-term member of the team. He is very keen on having Sourav Ganguly as a part of the national set-up," the BCCI source told HT.

The BCCI sources have also stated that 'Winning abroad is BCCI's top priority at the moment and the board believes Shastri hasn't delivered on that front since his appointment with the national team. And Ganguly's successful record away from home works in his favour.'

"Ganguly knows how to win abroad. He is India's most successful captain away from home. Shastri has not got us the results we wanted, so we could ask Ganguly to step in," the source added.

"It is unlikely Shastri will go to Bangladesh, so he could go back to his media commitments," the report stated.

The newspaper also reported that apart from Ganguly, the board has roped in the services of cricketing legends Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid and that the duo will be offered roles in some capacity with Team India.
